A Celebration of Diversity: Hawaii's Queer and Abled Artists Unite in an Art Collaborative


Through a grant from The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, Equality HI has partnered with Abled Hawai’i Artists and Full Life to organize The Queer and Abled Hawai’i Artists Collaborative. This inclusive two-day event to be held on Friday and Saturday, March 1-2, 2024, 10am-3pm at Shari's Studio. The Queer and Abled Hawai’i Artists Collaborative will provide unique art making collaborative opportunities for master and aspiring artists, who identify as queer and/or disabled. Completed artwork will be featured in an exhibit in an accessible gallery in Hilo, Hawai'i during the June Pride weekend.


Unsold artwork will be featured in a silent auction fundraiser benefitting AHA, AHAC and Equality HI at the Abled Hawai'i Artists 17th Annual Art Festival, October 5, 2024 at Prince Kuhio Plaza, Hilo, 10am to 3pm.


Abled Hawai’i Artists is an all-volunteer organization that celebrates the spectrum of creativity while promoting the exploration of inclusive entrepreneurship in the arts. Full Life Hawai'i assist in the empowerment of people with developmental disabilities live a full and self-determined lives. Full Life is the program and fiscal sponsor for Abled Hawai’i Artists.
